The Passion of Saint John the Baptist: Aug. 29th
Celebrating the Passion of Saint John the Baptist as a family, there is nothing like eating "Locust and Honey" for a snack—a.k.a. dates with pretzels for legs and raisins for eyes attached with honey. We then made chicken and cheese stuffed quesadillas for dinner as a variation of a European tradition to serve stuffed pastries/empanadas on this feast day. If you'd like to try a sweeter variation of "Locust and Honey," check out Catholic Cuisine's recipe.
